Vera G. Abernathy, 80, of 316 Ridgewood died Monday, Jan. 10, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born April 16, 1913, in Canton to Glen E. and Minnie V. Sleeth Weed, she married Darrell R. Abernathy on Oct. 26, 1934, in Peoria. He died Dec. 2, 1992, in Chillicothe.
Surviving are one son, Kirk Ray of Macomb; and one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Karen) Schuttler of Galva.
She was a clerk and office worker for Mannerings Men's Wear in Chillicothe for 29 years.
She was a charter member of Arrowhead Country Club and past president of the Chillicothe Women's Club.
Her body has been donated to medical science.
