Wilbur D. Adams was the youngest child of George William Adams and Lucy (Northcutt) Adams. Wilbur was born at his aunt's house in Prairie City, Kansas but his home was in Prairieton Township in Christian County, Illinois. He was the brother of Charles Owen Adams, Elizabeth Willett (Beaumont) and Salena (Dedman). He was the grandson of Ellington and Elizabeth Adams who were early settlers of Prairieton Township, just west of Moweaqua, Illinois. Wilbur married Maud (Winter) Adams on April 10, 1889. They had no children but he was an uncle to Cloyd Adams, Ibra Adams, Leon Adams, Juanita Marie (McIntyre), Robert Adams, Elizabeth (Botoner), Maybelle (Smith/Reckerd), Verna (Branch) and Sidney M. (Cline). Wilbur and Maud lived for many years at 301 West Main Street in Moweaqua.
