Joseph Harryman Richardson (nick named Redman) was born Aug 3 1843 in Clay county, Indiana. He wrote few letters so that little is known of his travel's and employment in early life.

in 1860 he was with Cyrus Richardson in Rroenoke, Missouri and Cyrus wrote a letter to home, Joe not home sick yet. In the fall of 1864 Joe was in Indiana was with Cyrus again and was with him when Cyrus died Nov 1864 of typhoid fever.

He was in Centerville Iowa for a visit in Jan. 1865 in the summer of 1869 he came to Chico Calif. he worked with and aided in the building of Richardson springs with brothers Jared , Alonzo W., Pierce C., in 1902 when the partnership was dissolved he recived his shares in the division of Mud Creek Ranch (now known as Richardson Springs) 5000 acres of stock range. On July 1, 1903 Redman married Alice Aldersley, she was an active business woman working with Lee Richardson as manager. Her efforts have developed the property and made it a famous health Resort. - Mike Boggs.
