Harry Edward Arcularius was born Aug. 8, 1875, in Washington, Missouri, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Arcularius, and was educated in the public schools there. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Roberta Arcularius; two sons, Carl of Neosho and Robert of Omaha, Neb., and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Moore of Kilgore, Tex,; one brother, Charles H. and a sister, Miss Amy, both of Joplin, and one grandchild, Sara Caroline Moore of Kilgore. The relatives attending the funeral were his brother and sister of Joplin, his daughter of Kilgore, his son, Robert and wife of Omaha, Mrs. L.D. Harison of St. Louis, Mrs. and Mrs. Galen Longnecker of Carthage.
Mr. Arcularius was graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1895. His first job was in Belleville, Ill. He went to Honey Grove, Tex., in 1899 and there he married Miss Roberta Smith in Detroit, Tex., March 25, 1901. He moved to St. Louis in 1904 and in 1905 to Oronogo where he bought his first business, the Leish drug store, which he operated several years. he came with his family to Neosho in 1911 and bought the Busy Corner drug store which he owned until 1924. He sold the store and operated an insurance agency for a short time then went to Bristow, Oklah. He returned to Neosho in 1933 and bought the A. W. Duff insurance agency which he operated until his health failed.
Mr. Arcularius was a prominent and useful citizen, active in church and other civic affairs. He was a worker in the First Presbyterian Church and in the Neosho Ad Club of which he was a former president; former Boy Scout exective of the district and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 247. He was a leader in all civic enterprises that were for the good of Neosho and the community.
