Thomas Fones was at an early age apprenticed to a grocer in London. He was freed from the apprenticeship in 1602. However he did not pursue the grocery trade becoming an apothacary.
His first wife of Ann Winthrop with which the following children were born:
After the death of Ann in 1618 he married the widow of Bezalell Sherman, named Priscilla. They had no children.
He wrote his will two days prior to his death.
It is not known for certain, but he is most likely buried with Ann at St. Sepulachre Church in London.
