Husband of Mintie Hartwell.* Worked as a timberman at local coal company (the designation generally means framing the interiors of mine shafts, very strenuous and dangerous work). Noted on death certificate as 15 years duration. His brother, Oliver Taylor, worked 14 years at the mine and repaired conveyance equipment. His brother, James, died as a result of injuries from his mine occupation as a loader, at only 22. His brother Leonard also worked at the mines and eventually was carried out on a stretcher, after which he quit working at the mine. Raymond R. Taylor was aged 44 years, 3 mo., 16 days. Place of death, Bluefield Sanitarium, following an operation (Beaver Pond District). Informant on record, his brother, Albert. Undertaker-Mercer Funeral Home.
