Oct. 1, 1881 Sardis Harrison County West Virginia, USA
w/o John Robert Boggess
Birth: in Virginia, now West Virginia
As told me by "Bettie" (Boggess) Watson: On 1 October 1881, Mary Melinda took her daughters to her mother's home some distance away, because of trouble with her husband. Amelia (Boggess) Robinson, her mother, would not harbor them, so they returned home to find John ranting mad. He grabbed a poker iron, beating Mary and daughter Ida to death, while other four daughters looked on. John was sent to and died in the Weston's West Virginia Asylum hospital where he was buried in 1902.
