Louise P. Allison
Louise P. Allison, 81, of Columbus died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at her home.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, was a former Sunday school teacher and was a member of the church choir. She also was a member of Joseph Hart Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and BM Chapter of PEO Sisterhood.
She attended Indiana University and was a 1939 graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse during World War II and also had worked at Columbus Regional Hospital, Methodist Hospital and the Masonite Clinic at Laurel, Miss.
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allan K. Wilson officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, and from noon until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County or First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Allison was born in Otwell Oct. 19, 1917, the daughter of the Rev. R.O. and Naomi Fetzer Pearson. She married Paul R. Allison Dec. 23, 1941, in Columbus. He died May 8, 1989.
Survivors include a son, James R. Allison of Arvada, Colo.; daughters, Paula A. Brostrom of Ann Arbor, Mich., Nancy L. Pegg of Crescent City, Fla., and Deborah A. Stamper of Columbus; a brother, Kenneth Pearson of Indianapolis; a sister, Kathryn Harvey of Oshkosh, Wis.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Walden Pearson.
