Dr. Thomas Fitzgerald Carroll, 73, of Farmville, Va., husband of the former Miss Frances Price of Salisbury, died Friday in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

He became ill March 2 while he and Mrs. Carroll were vacationing in Florida.

A minister of the Virginia Methodist Conference, he retired three years ago.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Clinton Carroll, head of the Art Department at Salisbury State College; two granddaughters; a sister, Miss Sallie Carroll, Lynchburg, Va.; and two brothers, the Rev. J. H. Carroll, Halifax, Va., and A. N. Carroll, Martinsville, Va.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Parsons Cemetery with Dr. Roy Tawes, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, officiating.

The family suggests that as a tribute to the memory of the deceased, that contributions may be made to the fund for the reopening of Blackstone College, Blackstone, Va.
