Funeral services for Jerome and Nadine Lowin, were held Thursday, September 22, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Hans R. Nelson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, Nebraska. Scott Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

The couple were found died in their home in Golden, Colorado, on Thursday, September 15, 1988, where they had resided the past nineteen years. Both were Bloomfield natives, born and reared in the community. A memorial service for the couple were held on Tuesday, September 20, in Golden, Colorado, at the Applewood Valley United Methodist Church, conducted by the Revs. Mabel Rice and Donald Bieyle.

Music was furnished by Ted Powell on the organ, accompanying Jennifer Powell as soloist. Casket bearers for Sara were Michael Vondracek, Thomas Vondracek, George Vondracek, Ted Powell, Steven Wallinger and Neal Christensen.

Sara Nadine Johnson was born January 20, 1938, in Bloomfield, Nebrska, the daughter of John Arthur and Edna Lois Johnson. She was baptized in the Hurst Stafford Methodist Church in rural Bloomfield. She attended rural school, kindergarden through eight grade in school districts 115 and 100 in Knox County. During these years, she was very active in 4-H activities. She attended Wayne State College and earned an associate degree. She then taught in a Knox County rural school. Sara attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, with a baccalaureate degree in 1960. She taught in Omaha, until her marriage.

She married Jerome Vernon Lowin on July 19, 1962, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bloomfield. The couple lived in Iowa, Idaho, California and Colorado. She taught school in all of these locations. They moved to Golden, Colorado, where she lived the last nineteen years. She was presently working on a masters degree at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado. She was a member of the Applewood Valley United Methodist Church and took part in many church activities. She belonged to the Denver Education Association, Cub Scouts and Western Pilot's Wives.

Survivors include two sons, Bart and Jon Lowin, both at home; three sisters, Virginia (George) Vondracek, Lorraine (John) Hedman, and Inez (Terrance) Joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Vivian, and two brothers, Flaven and Loren Johnson.
