He married his cousin Esther Ely, daughter of Benjamin and Esther Ely, Oct. 29, 1786.
He was a farmer, a man of ability and integrity, much esteemed by the community in which he lived. He dieded in the house he built when married, on the land which was given to him by his father, which at the time of his death was still in a good state of preservation in the city of Holyoke.
He and Esther had six children: Aurila, Henry, Enoch, Justin, Esther, & Anna. Aurila and Enoch are the only two to marry the others lived unmarried and died in the house where they were born.

Note: Buried here according to Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots. Enoch is actually recorded in Elmwood Cememtery, it is maintained by Forestdale Cemetery. It was once on the sight of 1st Baptist Church and is located at 2190 North Hampton Street.
