Walter was the son of Robert Palmer Davis and Julia Prudente Cooley. He married Birdie Estella Lucille Gruver, April 5, 1914 in Fort Scott, Kansas.
Mr. Davis was a veteran of WWI, serving with the 28th. Company, 165th. Depot Brigade. He served on the Foet Scott police force for several years before becoming associated with the Merker Boiler and Machine Shop as a boiler maker until 1954, when he went into semi-retirement. He attended the Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Davis was servived by six children; Mynettia Lucille (Ann) Gannon, Walter G. (Jack) Davis, Violet Adeline Sluder, Wanda Lou Embry, Floyd Eugene Davis, Paul D. Davis.Also surviving were two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Matt Englert and Ann Galyan, Rufus Davis and Jim Davis.
