Donald C. Arch, 68, Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in his home surrounded by his family. Don was diagnosed with renal cell cancer in December 2005.

Don was born January 16, 1938 in Crookston, MN, the son of Clarence and Myrtle (Schostag) Arch. He grew up in Crookston graduating from Crookston Central High in 1956. He then joined the USAF serving four years in Air Defense Command in early warning radar stations in Okinawa, Japan and North Dakota.

Don married Ramona Gajeski on July 21, 1962; they resided in Crookston until 1968 before moving to Grand Forks. Don worked for Land O'Lakes, Bridgeman Division, starting as a production line worker and ending his career after 36 years as Chief Financial Officer, retiring in December 1997.

Don's most wonderful treasures were his daughters, Rochelle and Jeanelle. He enjoyed the time he spent with them, their husbands and grandchildren. He felt so blessed that God gave him such wonderful gifts. He enjoyed his retirement, wintering with Mona in Mesa, AZ. Golfing, hiking and admiring his beautiful Superstition Mountain which he could see from his backyard.

Don was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks and Christ the King Catholic Church, Mesa, AZ. He loved our Creator very much.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 44 years, Ramona; daughter, Rochelle (Donovan) Hayostek, Shakopee, MN and children, Veronica, Michael and Thomas, grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlin; daughter, Jeanelle (Peter) Mathsen, St. Paul, MN, their children, Bryn and Anna; a sister, Carol Arch Lawrence, Oklahoma City, OK; sisters-in-law, Laurel (Bruce) Van Dake, Apply Valley, MN and Jean Arch, Raleigh, NC; brothers-in-law, Gene (Suzanne) Gajeski, Stephen, MN and Richard (Kim) Gajeski, Stephen, MN; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Roman and Bernice Gajeski; brother, Robert Arch; nephew, Ronald Arch; brother-in-law, John Lawrence and grand-daughter, Lacey Hayostek.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2006 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service and a 4:30 p.m. rosary in Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks and one hour prior to the liturgy on Saturday.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.

Military Honors: Members of the American Legion Post 157 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, East Grand Forks, MN.
