Death of George Braley
Died - At his late residence, near Big Spring, Adams County, Dec. 8th, 1881, Mr. George Braley.
Deceased was born in Phillips, Franklin county, Maine, Feb. 23, 1827. Came to Wisconsin at an early age and was an "old settler" in Sauk county, where he was well known.
A few years since he was terribly injured while entering a barn on a load of hay. Although for many days his life was despaired of, his strong constitution at length enabled him, in a measure, to recover his health, but his death, after protracted and intense suffering, was the final result.
His remains were brought to the house of his father-in-law, Tollif Birum, where the funeral services were attended by a large congregation of friends and neighbors. Rev. S.P.Kezerta, speaking words of consolation from the 116th Psalm, selected by the deceased for the occasion. The long train followed to Ebenezer Churchyard, where his body was laid by the side of his father and mother to await the resurrection.
