Sunday, March 7, 2004 from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri.

Service: Sunday, March 7, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia, Missouri. Officiating will be: Mr. Virgil Smith. Music provided by: favorite traditional hymns. Interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Ed Marshall Jr., David Marshall, Benjamin Marshall, Timothy Marshall, Shaun Marshall, Bill Bontz and Shane Bontz.

William Guy Marshall passed away peacefully in his sleep at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his home in Vandalia. Mr. Marshall had worked in the shipping department at Harbison Walker Refractories in Vandalia, retiring in 1972 after 43 years. He was a lifelong Vandalia area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Marshall was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed his work and listening to ballgames. He also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds around his home daily.

Born: July 20, 1907 near Hillsville, Virginia the son of Daniel Elemander and Laura Edith (Hollingsworth) Marshall.

Married: Florence Mae Greenwood on April 18, 1931 in St. Louis; she preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles K. Marshall of Eolia and Guy E. and wife, Jackie Marshall of Vandalia; one daughter, Laura Mae Bontz of Vandalia; one sister, Mayme Mason of Virginia; 14 grandchildren: Sharon Whisnant, Ken Michael Marshall, Charles A. Marshall, Debra I. Nelson, Laura D. D`Arca, Bill Bontz, Guy E. Marshall Jr., David P. Marshall, Timothy D. Marshall, Katherine P. Lamberson, Wm. Benjamin Marshall, Donna L. McCune, Patricia L. Stathem and Judith Francis; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: one brother, James I. Marshall and three sisters, Ibra Houston, Edna Mae Coss and Ava Cornish.
