The second of ten children born to James Weddle & Sarah Jane (Snider) Kennedy of Nashville, Brown Co IN, Lon married Ida May Moberly on 11 Feb 1900 in Brown Co IN, the daughter of J H & Louise E Moberley of Brown Co IN.

Children with Ida:
1) Charles Kennedy (1900-1981)
2) William Gratton Kennedy (1902-1971), m: Beatrice Deckard.
3) Enid Kennedy (1905-1996), m. Herschel F Lemley.
4) Ina Kennedy (1907-1996), m1: Cecil C Poling, m2: Clyde W Wachtstetter.
5) Alonzo Kennedy Jr (1909-1910)
6) Juanita Kennedy (1912-2001), m1: Alva Merrill Tomlinson, m2. Ralph Clark.

By trade Lon was a Barber, but had worked in his early years as an house painter and in his later years as gate keeper at Brown County State Park.

"Alonzo Kennedy, 84, Dies
NASHVILLE - Alonzo Kennedy, 84, of Nashville, died at 7 o'clock Thursday night at his home after a 6-week illness.
Born in Brown county Oct. 8, 1876, he was the son of James and Sally Snyder Kennedy. He was married Feb. 6, 1900, to the former Ida Moberley who died Sept. 10, 1954.
Mr. Kennedy had worked as a barber and was employed at Brown county state park 16 years before his retirement several years ago.
Funeral rites will be at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Bond funeral home in Nashville, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Davis. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery. Casket is open at the funeral home.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Richard [sic-Herschel] Lemley of Columbus, who is employed in the business office of The Evening Republican; Mrs. Ina Poling of Indianapolis and Mrs. Juanita Clark of Knightstown; two sons, Charles Kennedy of Indianapolis and William G. Kennedy of Nashville; two brothers, Jake Kennedy of Indianapolis and Claude Kennedy of Kokomo; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Scofield, Mrs. Bertha Tutt and Mrs. Gertrude Spring, all of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Mayme Marsh of New Albany; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren."
