BOARDMAN – Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Szabo & Sons Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen of Hungary Church for Mrs. Virginia R. Kinnick, 84, who passed away Monday evening at the Greenbrier Health Care Center.
Virginia was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of Stephen and Mary Tancer Smith. She lived in this area her whole life.
Virginia worked as an instructor in food service at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. She was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Church where she was a past president of the Parish Council, was a member of the Silver and Gold Senior Citizens group of the church, serving as the social chairperson, was a choir member of the church and was on the committee of the 60th East High School reunion of the class of 1945.
Virginia was married to Philip Magnetta on Jan. 25, 1945, and he passed away in 1975.
She is survived by her second husband, Edward Kinnick, whom she married on April 4, 1979; a son, Louis (Carolyn) Magnetta of Boardman; a daughter, Jeanne (Hank) Williams-Hubner of Dallas; three stepdaughters, Pamela Pipoly of Boardman, Janice Crincic of Youngstown and Nancy Lydic of Boardman; one stepson, Mark Kinnick of Lake Milton; a brother, Elmer Smith of North Lima; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Magnetta and two brothers, Steve and William Smith.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
