Chester died in the Romsey Military Hospital In Hampshire England and was buried in the Cemetery on 4th October 1918. The Burial records show his age as 24 years. In 1920 the authorities here worked with the families to exhume the remains. At the request of the families they were either moved to Brookwood American Military Cemetery in Surrey, England or repatriated to the USA for re-burial there. It would appear that his family requested for him to be reinterred in the US. His remains were exhumed on 21 April 1920, and sent back to the US. His body left Southampton England on 11 May 1920 onboard The Princess Matoika and arrived in Hoboken New Jersey on 23 May 1920. He was then handed over to his next of Kin, James U Grant of LA Pryer Texas.
