He was born January 30, 1908, at Sun Hill in Wyoming County, a son of the late Gentry Cline (1882-1968) and Celia L. "Dollie" Harvey-Cline (1888-1954) (per WV Register of Births, Wyoming County, WV, Page 29, Line 7).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie Workman-Cline (1912-Deceased) whom he married on July 16, 1934 in Landville, Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1934, Line 29, Application Date: July 16, 1934); one son, Rocky Loren Cline (1950-2010); several infant children; his brothers and sisters: Bert Cline (1904-1967), Lake "Lakie" Cline-Belcher (1909-Deceased), Frances "Frankie" Cline-Goodman (1913-Deceased), Victoria "Vickie" Cline-Toler (1915-Deceased), Allen Cline (1917-1992), Dell E. Cline (1919-1977), & Elouise Cline-Bailey (1924-2007).
"Cat" was a retired coal miner and a self employed timber contractor. When he was able, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. "Cat" was devoted to his family and loved spending time with all of them.
Those left to cherish his memory are six children, Doris B. (Bernie) Cline-Spence of Accoville, Josephine Cline-Hawks of Gilbert, French (Ernestine) Cline of Gilbert, Edgar (Louise) Cline of Brenton, Clifford (Josephine) Cline of Lock Port, NY, and Jerry Cline at home; two sisters, Garnet M. Cline-Hatfield (1923-2017) of Clear Fork and Ida Marie Cline-Pinchback (B. 1932) & Jack Thomas Pinchback (B. 1932) of Brenton; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will commence at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Jerry Rose and Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
