Deceased Name: GERHARD CHRISTIAN HILKEN

Gerhard Christian Hilken, a retired office manager for International Harvester in Milwaukie, died of causes related to age Thursday in a Portland area retirement center. He was 92.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. in Skyline Memorial Park, Portland. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Milwaukie.

A native of Wilton, N.D., Mr. Hilken was born March 22, 1898, and had lived in the Portland area since 1934.

Mr. Hilken married Ottillia Huber in 1924 in Winner, S.D. After his retirement in 1958, he became the office manager for the Northwest District of the Luthern Church of the Missouri Synod. He was there for 12 years and served on the church board of directors for 30 years. After that he opened an accounting service in his home. He also received his doctorate in business admnistration from Ohio Christian College through a correspondence course.

Mr. Hilken was a charter member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Milwaukie.

He is survived by his wife, Ottillia of Portland; a son, Robert of Portland; his sisters, Meta Fricke of Baldwin, N.D. and Lilly Gibson of New Caney, Texas; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Building Fund of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or the Concordia College of the Northwest Foundation.
