James L. Prickett (December 8, 1939 - September 23, 2006)
ARLINGTON - James L. "Jim" Prickett, 66, died Sept. 23, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Hutchinson, the son of Harvey Lawrence and Alpha Muriel Brooks Prickett. He graduated from Arlington High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. A lifetime Arlington resident, he was a supervisor for Eaton, retiring after 40 years of service.
He belonged to Arlington United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous committees. He served as Arlington mayor and municipal judge, served on the Reno County Food Bank and the Reno County 20/20 Vision and for 10 years coordinated the Fundraising for the Arlington Ambulance Fund.
On Feb. 13, 1964, he married Verna M. Price in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Kelly Ann Schmidt and husband, Brad, Arlington, and Kimberly Diane Schwind and husband, Terence, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Janis Armstrong and husband, Gordon, Oklahoma City; and seven grandchildren, Jeramie, Chadd, Kecia, Brooklyn, Madison, Luke and Meredith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Wallace presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Arlington United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
