Stella Blankenship Williams of Melbourne, daughter of the late George Lee and Addie Fought Blankenship, was born February 25, 1913, at Newburg. She died December 18, 2000, at Pioneer Nursing and Rehab Center in Melbourne. She was 87.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Melbourne.

Survivors include; two daughters, Bonnie Williams Cone of Little Rock and Mary Ann Hall of Harrison; four sisters, Loyce Floyd of Melbourne; Helen Hudgens, Joyce Floyd and Lela Durhan all of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren, Annette Herrington, Jimmy Cone and Maria Henery all of Little Rock and John Wray of Springdale; six great-grandchildren, Christina Blue, Caroline Herrington, Patrick Cone, Alex Cone, Rachel Way and Raegan Wray and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Tom Williams; an infant son; her parents; three brothers, Stanley, Lonnie and Jess Blankenship.

Funeral services were held December 20, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Reverend Doyne Robertson officiating. Pallbearers were Jimmy Cone, John Wray, Phil Herrington, Paul Henry, Deanie Floyd, Wayne Moore, Y.D. Whitehurst, Bige Wray, Tommy Cone and Same Cooke.

Interment was in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
