She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Rockport.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Carlson was pre-deceased by one son Richard N. Carlson in 1963, daughter Arlene Jenkins in 1957 and by two brothers and eight sisters. She is survived by five sons, Roger L. Carlson and his wife Sheila, Donald L. Carlson, Sr. and his wife Catherine, Robert L. Carlson and his wife Joan, Alfred C. Carlson all of Rockland, Gustav H. Carlson, Jr. of Warren; six daughters, Sonja M. Staples and her husband Herbert, Jr. of Lincolnville, Hilma L. Meklin and her companion Nelson Harmon of Rockland, Norma Davee and her husband Robert of Camden, Judith Carlson of Thomaston, Florence E. VanHoek and her husband Hans of Valrico, FL, Karen E. Oliver of Rockland; two brothers, Rodney Morse of Connecticut, Freeman Hawes of Rockport; three sisters, Leona Wood of Camden, Nettie Salo and her husband Arvo of Owls Head, Mary Dennison of Rockport; 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
