Mezlak worked for Ford Motor Co. until his retirement.
He had been an Altar boy at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and graduated from Admiral King High School, both in Lorain. He enjoyed sports, music, concerts, fantacy football, bowling on the Ford"graveyard" league and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons Todd Mezlak and Jason Mezlak, both of Lorain; sisters Joyce Zelina of Las Vegas and Lynn Gnizak of Kentucky, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Zrelak (nee Tissler) and Ted Mezlak.
Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m., at Wyers Funeral Chapel 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township. Prayers there Friday at 12:15 p.m. will be followed at 1 p.m. by graveside services at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Road, Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor of St. Peters Catholic Church, will officiate.
