Russian painter, landscape artist, brother of Paul Svedomsky. They lived together and were buried in one grave in Rome. He grew up in the family estate of Michael Plant Osinsky district of the Perm province. He studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts and later in Munich at the Edward Gebgardta and Mihai Munkachi. Together with his brother he traveled to various artistic centers of Europe. From 1875, the brothers settled in Rome. The most famous among his paintings is "The street in ancient Pompeii", dispayed at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
