Jack Henry Hughes, 59, of 622 E. 925 N., was dead on arrival at the Dee Hospital Wednesday evening of natural causes. Mr. Hughes was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Aztec, N.M., a son of Frank and Emma Maddox Hughes. He was reared and educated in Colorado Springs, and Denver, Colo. He later moved to Durango, Colo., where he was a banjo player. He was married to Blanche Schofield on May 26, 1938, in Ogden. He came to Ogden in 1937 and later moved to Washington where he was a heavy equipment operator in construction work. He returned to Ogden in 1942 and started working for the Ogden Union Railway and Depot Co. as a switchman. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ogden Aerie 2472. Surviving are his widow, four sons, Richard Hughes, David Hughes and Kim Hughes, all of Ogden; Frank Hughes, serving with the Army in Viet Nam; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Janice) Hewett, Washington Terrace; Mrs. Delane (Jeanie) Bybee, Ogden; Mrs. Mark (Diane) Rowley, Bountiful. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, his mother of New Mexico, two sisters Mrs. John (Charlette) Bellino, Farmington, N.M.; Mrs. Ben (June) Lynch, Pagosa Springs, Colo. Funeral services will be announced by the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary.

Funeral services for Jack Henry Hughes, of 622 East 925 North, Ogden husband of Blanche Schofield Hughes, will be conducted Monday at 11: a.m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th St., with Lloyd E. Drummond of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen officiating, Friends may call at the Chapel of Flowers Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday until time of services. Interment will be in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
