Elizabeth M. McQueary BAILEY, 84, 340 E. 18th St., Rochester, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
She was born on May 6, 1922, in Roseland to Joseph and Lillian (Sykes) Simms.
On May 6, 2001, in Rochester, she married Elbert Bailey. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2003.
Mrs. Bailey was a private nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Ernest R. and wife Ethel McQueary Jr., North Manchester; daughter, Marchelle McQueary and Ronald Gaumer, Rochester; five grandchildren, Robert and wife Heather Styles Jr., Rochester, Misty and husband Mitch Eccles, Rochester, John R. McQueary Jr., Rochester, Carol McQueary and Cheryl McQueary; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Simms, Greenfield, and George and wife Dorothy Simms, Mishawaka; sisters, Mabel and husband William Morgan, Mishawaka, Mary Jo Welch, Florida, Pauline Rehnell, Shelburn, and Donnabelle and husband Bill Hazelit, Downers Grove, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her son, John McQueary Sr., sister, Viola Newman, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Woody Slade officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Online condolences may be sent to [email protected].
