Gerald Franklin Wright, son of Orville John Wright and Helena Leona (Dascher) Wright, was born April 4th, 1916, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Gerald was a veteran of World War II, having served as a French translator for the US Army. After the military, Gerald worked as a talented musical entertainer (both singing and playing a variety of instruments) under the name "Frank Wright", and ran a poultry business. Gerald was a deep thinker and had a way with words, becoming the editor of national cattle and poultry magazines.
Gerald was married four times and had thirteen children. In about 1946, he married his first wife, Gloria Marie Burgess, a beautiful young woman. Gerald and Gloria had Gail, George, and David.
On November 10th, 1942, he married Kathryn A. Still, a newspaper writer and several-times winner of Idaho Poet of the Year. George and Kathryn had Penny, Sherry, and John.
On February 2nd, 1949, he married Delores Jean Carnegie, with whom he had Andrew, Gerald Jr., Orville, Helena, Orrin, and Blanche.
On April 29th, 1975, he married Kristhild Theresa Loken from Norway, with whom he had one daughter, Randi.
Gerald had great love for every one of his children. He was known for keeping photos of all of his children in one, long, accordian-folded photo holder in his wallet, along with a list of all their names, birthdays, and special facts about them. He enjoyed pulling it out and proudly showing off his kids.
Gerald passed away in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on April 18th, 1999, just two weeks after his 83rd birthday.
