Life! I know not what thou art, But know that thou and I must part; And when, or how, or, where we met, I own to me is a secret yet. Life! We've been long together, through pleasant and through stormy weather; "Tis hard to part when friends are dear---Perhaps will cost a sigh or tear; Then steel away; give little warning, Choose thine own time; Say not Good Night---but in some bright clime Bid me Good Morning." Thus the soul of our loved one, whose body lies before us, winged away to new abode to be welcomed by a hearty Good Morning, by her sister, her life companion, and most of her friends of her generation.
Sophronia Jane Dunn, daughter of John Ira Dunn and Lydia Ann Dunn was born near White Oak, Ohio, June 9, 1860, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Stineman, Sardinia, February 25, 1949.
On March 11, 1880 she was united in marriage with Daniel E. Dunn, and to gladden this home four children were born: Mrs. Zelma Mullen, Georgetown, Alma deceased, Mrs. Mary Stineman, Sardinia and Dr. Hoyt Dunn, Traverse City, Michigan.
After marriage she and her husband established their home on a farm near Brownstown, where they spent many happy years. While living at that point they united in membership with the United Brethren Church and were very active as long as health permitted.
Her husband and daughter preceded her in death. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Ella Purdy, of Portsmouth, Ohio, two daughters and one son of her immediate family, grandchildren, great great grandchildren, many relatives and a host of friends, who should be happy for the example and life Aunt Jane lived among them.
