****Mike's Precious Companion****

Molly was the most beautiful Beagle owned by my son Mike. She had the cutest freckles on her nose and on her legs and her coat was silky and soft. One of her most favorite things to do was to chase a tennis ball. As long as you would throw it, she would chase it...She could balance the ball on her nose and then toss it up and catch it. And she loved going on the many adventures up in the woods and to the high lakes camping. She loved camping with her best friend and hiking along the flume near the feather river.

She and our cat "Kidder's" would play with each other's toys...it was so much fun to watch them...they were so cute!

...She was my Son's ever faithful and loving companion...

MY FOREVER PET

There's something missing in my home,

I feel it day and night,

I know it will take time and strength

before things feel quite right.

But just for now, I need to mourn,

My heart -- it needs to mend.

Though some may say, "It's just a pet,"

I know I've lost a friend.

You've brought such laughter to my home,

and richness to my days.

A constant friend through joy or loss

with gentle, loving ways.

Companion, friend, and confidante,

A friend I won't forget.

You'll live forever in my heart,

My sweet, forever pet.

A Pet's Plea
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.
You will be sad- I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day, more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer, so
When the time comes, please let me go.
I know in time you too will see
It is a kindness you do to me
Although my tail, it's last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Don't grieve that it should be you
Who has decided this thing to do
We've been so close, we two these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
