Proprietress of the Cavendish Hotel in Jermyn Street, London. Fictionalised as Louisa Trotter, the Duchess of Duke Street, played by Gemma Jones on the B.B.C in the 1970s, and parodied as Lottie Crump of Shepheard's Hotel in Evelyn Waugh's "Vile Bodies" (1930), about which she was far from pleased.
