*****A Big Heartfelt Thank You to Long Ago and Yesterday who sponsored this memorial! Your Kindness is appreciated beyond words! *****
Neil Munro was born the son of a farmer, and farmed all of his life. Harriet Swoffer used to bake pies and sell them at a local Restaurant where Neil frequented often, just to sample her pies! They fell in love, married on April 6th, 1910 and remained happily married for nearly 51 years. They raised 7 children (Orville, Weyman, Lila, Jay, Delta, Don, and Leighn); their children and grandchildren all loved him dearly. After his death, Harriet received all of her mail as "Mrs. Neil Munro." She never wanted to be called by any other name. She loved him and missed him, and kept the farm for as long as she was able.
Neil adored his wife, loved his children, and was a big tease with his grandchildren. Whenever I walked past him, I would feel a tug on my hair, but he was always looking the opposite direction!
To me, he is Grandpa Munro. I thank you Grandpa for raising my mom in a loving home. From her, I learned values and respect and how to love unconditionally. She learned it from you.
Rest in peace, Grandpa Munro! We all love and miss you still.
