COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Patsy Emogene Shoemake Carter, 51, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, May 2; and from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carter died on Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1950, in Cookeville to the late Oscar Bell and Willie Bell Johnson Shoemake.

Mrs. Carter was a member of Zion Church of Christ and a member of the YMCA.

Her family includes a son and daughter-in-law,
Jason and Julie Carter of Rickman; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angela and Danny Vaughn and Britny Carter, all of Cookeville; four brothers, Lonnie and Ronnie Shoemake, both of Cookeville, and Glenn and Dallas Shoemake, both of Florida; two sisters, Bonnie Smith of Cookeville and Loretta Brown of Smithville; and four grandchildren, Mercedes and Tanner Vaughn and Cody and Madison Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carter, and a brother, Bill Shoemake.

Pallbearers will be Jim Shake, Tim and Buddy Shoemake, David and Daryl Brown and B.J. Wilsford.

Bro. Don Chaffin will officiate at the services.
