Gordon R. Rothrock was the eldest of three known children of Philo Rothrock (1821-1904) and Caroline Thornberry Rothrock (1856-1917),who married 26 Feb 1885 at Harrison County, Arkansas. Philo had previously been married to Ellen Permelia (Priscilla?) Burnett (1821-1876), with whom he had nine known children.

Gordon first married to Pearl Emily Browning (1886-1929) on 23 May 1909 at Benton County, Arkansas. Gordon and Pearl were the parents of ten known children, namely:

After Pearl died, Gordon remarried to Lottie Smith (1910-1966) on 05 Dec 1929 at McDonald County, Missouri. Gordon and Lottie were the parents of eight known children, namely:

After Gordon died, Lottie remarried to Homer Eaves.

In 1910 Gordon and Pearl were living Laharpe, Allen County, ED16, Household 459, Kansas. In 1920 the parents and first four children were living at Benton County, Arkansas. In 1930 Gordon, Lottie and the first ten children were living at Mason Valley, Benton County, Arkansas with Gordon listed as a farmer. At the time of the 1940 Gordon (a farmer), Lottie, Donald, Bethel, Roy, Louise, Vera, Ruby, Olive and Richard were living at Mason Valley, Arkansas.
