William Chesley "Chet" Manuel
William Chesley "Chet" Manuel, 80, of Collegeville, formerly of Malvern, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010.
Chet was the husband of Sybil (nee Calaway) Manuel for 54 years.
Born Feb. 11, 1930, in Everett Mass., he was the last surviving of five children of the late Harry and Lucy Manuel.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve, serving from 1952 to 1960 and earning the rank of sergeant.
After the service, he received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an master's degree in engineering from Penn State Great Valley.
He was employed for 42 years at General Electric.
Chet is survived by his four daughters, April, Sandra, Janet and Brenda; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Mauger-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 400 Lancaster Ave., Frazer, PA 19355.
Family will receive friends at a short reception from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church.
Interment will be in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, Malvern, immediately following the service.
