Elizabeth was born in North Carolina or Kentucky, depending on which early Iowa State Census is viewed.
Her maiden name has always been a mystery too. The marriage record in Edgar Co, IL says "Langdon", but an old family record given to my grandmother by Eliz's daughter Sarah says "Camp Langly". In the 1830 census for Edgar Co, there is an Abishia CAMP next to Elizabeth and Obed, but no relationship has ever been established. Two women named Langley were married in Edgar Co around the same time Eliz married Obed, but it's not known how (or even if) they were related to her.
Elizabeth married Obed DENHAM on 29 July 1830 in Edgar Co, IL, which borders Vigo Co, IN. After the birth of their first child, Isaac, they moved to Vigo Co. Children Nancy, John, Margaret and Elizabeth were born there. They then moved to Clinton Co, Iowa, where four more children were born: Mary Ellen, James, Martha Anna, and Sarah ("Sallie"). A farm next to Rossiter Cemetery was theirs, but became the County Farm after Obed, second wife Nancy, and the four youngest children moved to Kansas Territory in 1857.
