He was born September 6, 1916 in Carlisle, IN, the son of Frederick Carl Alumbaugh and Nellie Fay Pirtle Alumbaugh.
He was office manager at the Pottery from 1935-1954. He owned the Cream Pitcher restaurant from 1954-1973 where the specialties were homemade ice cream and bar-b-que. He worked as a carpenter after selling the Cream Pitcher. He was a member of the Oak Glen Golf Course and the Chauncey Church of God.
He married Fern Woodworth October 10, 1937 and she preceded him in death March 5, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carolyn Alumbaugh; his granddaughter, Emily Bline; his brother, Robert Alumbaugh; and his brother-in-law, Paul Milligan.
He married Betty Hall Warford on March 13, 1994 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Lee Bline.
