BENSON - Joseph Grech, 81, formerly of Harwinton, CT., died at home December 16, 2010.
He was born March 9, 1929, in Unionville, Connecticut. He was the son of the late Joseph and Susan Grech.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Nield, and his brother, John Grech.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacalyn Ambrozaitis, son-in-law Robert; seven grandchildren, Molly and her husband Jared of Northfield, CT, Margaret, Robert, Joseph, Jake, Daisy, and Heidi, all of Benson, Vermont, and a great-grandson, Howard Worden. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Whalen and brother-in-law Francis of Harwinton, and brothers, Edward Grech of Torrington and Andrew Grech of Harwinton.
Joe served his country as a United States Marine. He was a brass mill worker, retired from Plume and Atwood in Thomaston. Joe was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman before suffering a stroke several years ago.
A funeral service is being held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 18, in Benson, Vermont at the United Church of Benson.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Durfee Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fair Haven, VT.
