Phyllis Irene Lamoureaux Foisy, 87, of 16 Milton Drive, North Adams, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at North Adams Regional Hospital.

She was born in Adams on March 17, 1923, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Olive (Davis) Lamoureaux. She attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School.

Phyllis was first employed at the Grant Store on Main Street in North Adams and later worked at the A & P Supermarket as well as the Brightwater Paper Company.

She lived in Adams for twenty-eight years and was last employed at the Signet Club. She was a former member and secretary of the North Adams Garden Club, helping to construct the garden on Union Street. In Adams, she belonged to Court Sancta Regina and the Catholic Daughters of America. While in Adams, she was a former president of the Rosary Sodality at St. Thomas Aquinas and a member of the Altar Guild.

Phyllis was a member of prayer groups for over thirty years. She enjoyed reading the Bible everyday and enjoyed to bowl. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond G. Foisy, whom she married on July 4, 1953 in North Adams; two daughters, Patricia Ann Price and her husband William of Hampton, Virginia and Sandra Jean Alfonso and her husband Frank of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Spencer, Richard and Michelle Sample, David Skorupski, Keith and Randy Wroblewski, and Amber Frederick; ten great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Carolyn Wittkowski of Belefonte, Pennsylvania. She pre-deceased a daughter, Donna Lee, who died November 11, 1954 and a brother, John Lamoureaux.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
