Wilber "Woody" Woodrum, age 81, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, in Franklin. He was a longtime resident of Franklin.
Woody was born on Feb. 8, 1924, in Liberty, Ky., to the late Herschel and Elizabeth (Allen) Woodrum. He married Agnes (Weaver) Woodrum in October 1950. She lovingly survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Pat Alee of California, Debbie Flanagan and her husband, Roger Flanagan Sr. of Lexington, Ky., and Pamela Woodrum of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Sharon Woodrum of Mooresville; seven grandchildren, Bobby Wood rum, Staci Woodrum, Angie Woodrum, Michael Woodrum, Roger Flan agan Jr., Stephanie Flanagan and Zack Flanagan; several brothers and sisters, including Cleo Burton and Mildred Whited, both of Franklin. He was preceded in passing by his loving son, Robert Woodrum.
He attended school in Kentucky.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in General Patton's 3rd Army, 378th Artillery Division.
Woody was employed by Arvin Industries in Franklin for more than 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F&AM and Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite.
After retirement, Woody enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry Stewart will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, where a military honor guard service will be conducted.
