Funeral services for Robert Henry Roland, 83, will be held at Liberty Hill Baptist Church near Estatoe, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, the Rev. W. E. Wilson, pastor of Newdale Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Roland a native of Yancey County, died at the home of his son, joe, at Newdale, Wednesday after an illness of a year. He was a farmer and sawmill operator and was a member of Shoals Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Houston Roland; five children, Mrs. Fronia McIntosh of Madison county, Mrs. Hattie Forbes of Estatoe, Mrs. Dorothy Forbes of Bakersville, and Joe and Bill Roland of Newdale: and 17 grandchildren.
