Obituary: "Fleetwood, Feb. 17 - James W. Delp, 77, died at his home, 106 West Main Street, this borough. He had been ill a number of years. He was a native of Maidencreek Township, a son of the late Jacob and Mary (Wessner) Delp, and was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are his widow, Hannah Himmelreich (Schaeffer) Delp; one son, Lester, of Springfield, MO; three brothers, Jake, Frank and William of Strafford, MO.
Funeral on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. Paul Kehm will officiate, all services to be held in the Stump Funeral Home, this borough. Interment will be made in Fleetwood Cemetery." (From the Reading Eagle Newspaper, February 17, 1949).
Not included in the obituary is an older sister, Caroline "Callie" (Delp) Comstock (1868-1940), and a half sister, Ellenora (Sell) Wagoner Greve Lohlein (1866-1944).
