Velma Davis was a retired Texas school teacher.
She taught the handicapped in the Baytown Texas School District, where her late husband had also been an educator. Velma Davis was a lifetime member of the Texas State Teachers Association.
Survivors include three sons: Frank Davis of Austin, Texas, Nathan Davis and wife, Frances, of Austin, Lee Davis and wife, Flo, of Ada, Ohio; three grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, and Kim Davis; one brother, Henry Owen and wife Dot of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and by one sister, Dr. Margaret A. Owens, of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant daughter, Tina Davis. Funeral services for Velma Owen Davis will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Reverand Keith Owens officiating. Internment will follow at the Davis Ranch Cemetery near Adamsville, Texas.
