Ralph J. Conroy, 80, Altoona, died Mon., Dec. 13, 2010 at home. He was born in Altoona to Leo W. & Helen (Blendl) Conroy. He married Joan M. Mangiacarne on Feb. 27, 1954, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Survived by wife; sons: Michael R., of Duncannon and Christopher P., of Denver, CO; daughter, Marie E. Hileman, of Bristow, VA; 6 grandchildren; 2 gr. grandchildren; and brother, John, of Lancaster. Predeceased by sisters: Mary Louise 'Connie' Potter and Pauline Weyandt; and brother, Thomas Conroy. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a machinist and tool and die maker for Phillips ECG and retired in 1988. He then owned and operated his machine shop until selling it in 1994. Member, Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament; VFW; Bavarian Aid Society; Newburg Volunteer Fire Assn. and Knights of Columbus. Jones Funeral Home, Altoona. Committal, Calvary Cemetery.
