Ralph J. Conroy, 80, Altoona, died Mon., Dec. 13, 2010 at home. He was born in Altoona to Leo W. & Helen (Blendl) Conroy. He married Joan M. Mangiacarne on Feb. 27, 1954, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Survived by wife; sons: Michael R., of Duncannon and Christopher P., of Denver, CO; daughter, Marie E. Hileman, of Bristow, VA; 6 grandchildren; 2 gr. grandchildren; and brother, John, of Lancaster. Predeceased by sisters: Mary Louise 'Connie' Potter and Pauline Weyandt; and brother, Thomas Conroy. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a machinist and tool and die maker for Phillips ECG and retired in 1988. He then owned and operated his machine shop until selling it in 1994.
