Funeral services for Sgt. William Evans Bridges, who was killed in North Africa May 7, 1943, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the Sudie George Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Frank C. Brown, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Bridges, a Sunset High School graduated, lived at 420 South Ravinia Drive before he entered the Army in January 1941. He formerly was an employee of the Texas & Pacific Railway. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
The Army posthumously awarded him the Soldier's Medal for heroism.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Bridges, of Dallas; two brothers, John C. Bridges and Alex M. Bridges, both of Dallas; and five sisters, Mrs. Hill Jackson, Miss Edna Bridges, Miss Ruth Bridges, and Miss Doris Bridges, all of Dallas; and Mrs. L. E. English, Los Ageles, California.
