Jenny C. Oberg, 96, of Towanda died Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Memorial Hospital, Towanda.
Jenny was born in Axelsvig, Sweden, on May 20, 1907, one of 13 children. On Nov. 23, 1929, she married Harry J. Oberg in Riverhead, Long Island, N.Y. in 1947 Mr. And Mrs. Oberg moved to Towanda to make their home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years on April 12, 1991. Jenny took pride in taking care of her family. She enjoyed baking and sewing for her family and many friends. She also enjoyed working outdoors in her flower gardens.
Surviving are: her son and daughter-in-law, Burt H. Oberg and Regina E. Oberg of Towanda, RR 4; three grandchildren, Tom Oberg of Elmira, N.Y., Kathryn Vanderpool and her husband, Tracy Vanderpool, of Towanda, and Karen Delamater and her husband, Donnie Delamater, of Towanda; and four great-grandchildren, Jed J. Delamater and his fiance, April Beauman, Travis L. Delamater, Janae M. Vanderpool and Caleb L. Vanderpool, all of Towanda.
A private memorial and burial service will be held at the convenience of the family.Interment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery, Towanda. Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to: The Manor, RR 3, Box 322, Troy, Pa. 16947, in Jenny C. Oberg's memory.
