Mrs. Auguste Foerster

ROSENBERG. -- Mrs. Auguste Foerster passed away Sunday night, November 23 at the age of 81 years in Brenham, rather suddenly. She was well known here, having spent the greater portion of her life here.

She was born October 28, 1866, at High Hill Fayette county, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Abendroth. She was united in marriage to Fritz Foerster July 19, 1887, in Lorena, Texas. Several years later, she accompanied her husband to Needville, coming from there to Rosenberg where except for short periods of time, she spent the remainder of her life. Her husband preceded her in death in 1931.

Mrs. Foerster leaves to mourn her departure two daughters, Mrs. Anna Baumert of Germany and Mrs. D.W. Schuech of Rosenberg; three sons, C.O. Foerster Sr. of Goose Creek, Fred Foerster and Raymond Foerster of Rosenberg; three grandsons, one granddaughter and five great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Henry Banker of Needville, and two brothers, Herman Abendroth of Needville and Will Abendroth of Wharton; two half-sisters, Mrs. Will Lehman of Needville and Mrs. Alma Cowan of Houston and one half-brother, Gus Abendroth of Houston, and a host of relatives and friends. One daughter, Mrs. Gussie Schaefer, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Foerster were held at the First Methodist church in Rosenberg at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, with Rev. Ben Behrens of Goose Creek officiating. Pallbearers were Graday Ray, H.C. Bernsausen, Louis Senkel, B.L. Johnson, Robert Kiecke, J.W. Oberhoff, M.E. Parrott, and Newell Finch. Burial was in the WOW cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Foerster Funeral home.

Note: Her body was later moved by her children.
