The Duvigneaud family business consisted of a combination confectionary / stationery / notions / pipe, cigar & tobacco store. All family members had various duties related to the running of the business. Additionally, Louis was a mail carrier for the Chicago post office until he left his position and retired to the O'Connell family truck farm in Crystal Lake IL where he helped with the farming / marketing / deliveries until he suffered the effects of a debilitating stroke. He had returned to his home in Chicago not long before his death in 1924.

Louis married his bride, 'Gerte' O'Connell on 11 JUN 1910.
They had their only child, DeSales Guillaume 'Dee' DuVigneaud on 26 JAN 1914 in Chicago.

Louis J. Duvigneaud, after suffering a second stroke of paralysis, died at his home in Chicago Monday, May 12th.

The funeral was held today (Thursday) from the St Sylvester Church in Chicago.

Duvigneaud was well known in Crystal Lake being a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs Thomas O'Connell.

Louis died at the age of 48, leaving his spouse, Gertrude Jane O'Connell Duvigneaud and an only son, DeSales G. Duvigneaud, age 10.
