WAR DEPARTMENT ISSUES LEON COUNTY WAR DEAD LIST
The War Department has published The Honor List of Dead and Missing for the State of Texas. "It contains the latest and most complete data available on all military personnel who were killed or died or became and remained missing.: according to the WD's statement.
The WD said it planned to "publish a complete and final list of deaths at some time in the future and errors discovered herein will be corrected in that list."
Texas, said the War Department, contained 4.78 per cent of the population of the US and possessions, and contributed 5.00 per cent of the total members who entered the army. Of these Texans, 2.91 failed to return. This figure represents 4.72 per cent of the army's total dead or missing.
The Leon county list includes the following names:
Carl D. Anderson, Bradford L. Bing, Bennie L. Black, Leslie D. Black, Joseph D. Burgin, Dempsey Burkeen, Frederick Carrington, Wash Carter, James B. Crowell, Dalton M. Eddins, Quincy A. Gerguson, Johnnie C. Grimes, Bradley K. Haley, David E. Holmes, Henry A. Hood, Luelian Houston, Robert L. Houston, James A. Humphreys, Odeal Jones, Roland T. Knight, Cecil D.
