Mrs. Gladys Mealer Burdette, 77, of Franklin died October 7 at Park View Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Williamson County, Mrs. Burdette was a homemaker and a member of Fourth Avenue Church of Christ in Franklin. Survivors include her husband, Carmack Burdette of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. J.W. (Marie) Hogan and Mrs. Richard (Beny) Jackson of Franklin and Mrs. Bill (Judy) Mabry of Columbia; two sons, Max Burdette of Decaturville, Tenn., and Tim Burdette of Evansville, Ind.; four brothers, J.P. Mealer and Dennis Mealer of Nashville, J.V. Mealer of Lewisburg and Eugene Mealer of Houston; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Franklin Memorial Chapel with Myron Keith and Fay Cornwell officiating. Burial will be in Leipers Fork Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
